Luiz Henrique Tavares Bicalho was born on 2 January 2001 in Vitória da Conquista, in the state of Bahia, Brazil. He came through the youth setup of Fluminense and made his senior debut for the club in 2020, becoming a regular attacking presence in 2021-22 before being sold to Real Betis in summer 2022 for around €8 million.
His Betis spell was uneven across two seasons, and in 2024 he returned to Brazil on loan to Botafogo, where the move transformed him into one of the most dynamic wingers in South American football. He played a leading role in Botafogo's 2024 Copa Libertadores triumph and Brasileirão title win, and was named the league's Player of the Year.
In summer 2025 Zenit Saint Petersburg signed him from Betis on a permanent basis for a substantial fee, intending him as a marquee attacking signing to lead their post-Brazilian-export attack. He has settled in as their senior wide attacker and continues to feature in European competitions.
For Brazil he debuted in 2023 and has been a senior squad option through Copa América 2024 and the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign, where he competes for wing selection alongside Vinícius Júnior, Rodrygo, Raphinha and Antony.
Standing 1.74 m, Luiz Henrique is a right-footed winger who plays naturally on either flank, combining acceleration with dribbling and a low centre of gravity. His all-action wide attacker style — direct running, willingness to cut inside, and end-product output — draws comparisons to a more rounded version of Wanderley Luxemburgo-era Lúcio Maranhão profile.
