Malik Mothersille was born on 23 October 2003 in London, England, and began his footballing journey in the academy of Leyton Orient before earning a scholar's move to Chelsea in the summer of 2020. He made only a handful of appearances for Chelsea's youth sides during his time there, including a loan spell with Derby County, but showed enough promise to be called into Chelsea's first-team training camp in Abu Dhabi, where he came off the bench in a friendly against Aston Villa.
His career found real momentum after he joined Peterborough United on a permanent deal in September 2023. During his time at Posh, Mothersille won back-to-back EFL Trophy titles in 2023–24 and 2024–25, and was recognised individually with the club's Young Player of the Season award for 2024–25. Those performances established him as one of League One's more compelling young attackers.
A direct, energetic forward with the ability to get in behind defensive lines, Mothersille secured a significant move to Stockport County in July 2025 on a three-year deal for a club-record fee, underlining the ambitions Stockport have for him as a key part of their attack.
Of Jamaican descent through his parents, Mothersille holds dual British-Jamaican citizenship and has represented the Jamaica national team internationally, earning a place in the preliminary 60-man squad for the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
