Renzo Renato Garcés Mori was born on 12 June 1996 in Ucayali, Peru. He developed through Universidad San Martín, another of the Peruvian clubs that regularly turns academy players into first-team professionals, and he entered senior football as a disciplined centre-back with good defensive habits.
Garcés built his career through Universidad San Martín and Universidad César Vallejo, becoming a regular in Liga 1 and gaining a reputation as a reliable stopper. At Vallejo he played domestic and continental matches, learning to defend deeper blocks and cope with the different rhythm of Copa Sudamericana football.
In 2024 he joined Alianza Lima and quickly became a regular presence in one of Peru's most demanding environments. By 2026 he remained with Alianza, where his form and leadership helped keep him around the national-team conversation.
For Peru he moved from being a domestic-league candidate to a senior international during the 2026 cycle. His appearances have come as the team has tried to renew a back line that for years leaned on Carlos Zambrano, Luis Abram, Alexander Callens and other established names.
Standing around 1.81 m, Garcés is a right-footed centre-back whose game is built on positioning, strength in duels and a simple first pass. He is not a flashy ball-carrier, but his steady profile invites comparisons with a domestic version of Alberto Rodríguez, with some of the combative edge of Carlos Zambrano.
