Frank Ogochukwu Onyeka was born on 1 January 1998 in Maiduguri, Nigeria. His professional path ran through FC Ebedei and then Midtjylland, the Danish club with deep Nigerian scouting links, where his energy and tackling range were shaped inside a data-driven, high-intensity system.
At Midtjylland he became a Danish Superliga champion and played European football, developing from a raw ball-winner into a midfielder trusted in pressing structures. His ability to cover ground and disrupt opponents made him one of the league's most exportable Nigerian players.
Brentford signed him in 2021, soon after their promotion to the Premier League. He later spent time away for regular minutes and by 2025-26 was with Coventry City, where his running power and defensive habits remained valuable in the English game.
For Nigeria he debuted in 2020 and became a regular squad midfielder under successive coaches. He played at AFCON tournaments, including the 2023 run to the final, and remained part of the 2026 World Cup qualifying cycle as a natural pressing partner for Wilfred Ndidi or Raphael Onyedika.
Onyeka is a right-footed midfielder of around 1.83 m whose game is built on stamina, duels and vertical pressing. He is often compared with a more mobile version of Ndidi, while his Premier League role has also resembled N'Golo Kanté in the narrow sense of covering spaces others leave.
