Hernán Ismael Galíndez was born on 30 March 1987 in Rosario, Argentina, and later became an Ecuador international after building most of his professional life in Ecuadorian football. His early career in Argentina did not bring a direct rise, but the move to Universidad Católica del Ecuador changed the course of his career.
At Universidad Católica he became one of the league's most consistent goalkeepers, then moved to Chile with Universidad de Chile and returned to Ecuador with Aucas. In 2022 he helped Aucas win the first league title in the club's history, a defining achievement that strengthened his standing in Ecuadorian football.
He later joined Huracán in Argentina, where by 2026 he remains an experienced starting goalkeeper in the Argentine top flight. His late-career return to Argentina has been built on reflex saves, leadership and the authority to organize a defensive block under pressure.
For Ecuador he debuted after naturalization and became part of the 2021 Copa América and 2022 World Cup squads, starting key matches in Qatar. He has remained in the national-team picture through Copa América 2024 and the 2026 qualifying cycle, often competing with Alexander Domínguez and younger options.
Standing about 1.89 m, Galíndez is a right-footed goalkeeper with strong reactions and a commanding voice. His path resembles that of a late-blooming international such as Franco Armani: a goalkeeper whose club consistency eventually turned into national-team trust.
