Jayden Danns was born on 16 January 2006 in Liverpool and has spent virtually his entire footballing life at his hometown club, joining Liverpool's academy at the age of eight. A product of one of England's most respected youth development systems, he progressed steadily through the age groups despite a spell dealing with Osgood–Schlatter disease during his under-16 years.
Danns announced himself to a wider audience during the 2023–24 season, a campaign that proved remarkably eventful for a teenager. He scored nine goals in seven under-18 league matches before breaking into Jürgen Klopp's first-team picture. His most memorable early contributions came in quick succession: he appeared as a substitute in the 2024 EFL Cup final as Liverpool beat Chelsea 1–0 at Wembley, then scored twice four days later in a 3–0 FA Cup fifth-round win over Southampton, earning his first player-of-the-match award in the process. That form prompted Liverpool to hand him a new long-term contract in March 2024.
A direct, energetic forward with a natural eye for goal, Danns faced a setback when injury disrupted his pre-season preparations ahead of 2024–25, keeping him out until November. He returned to form with a goal against Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup in January 2025 and made his first senior start against PSV Eindhoven in the UEFA Champions League later that month. A loan spell at Sunderland was curtailed by a back injury.
At international level, Danns has represented England at under-18 and under-20 level, scoring on his U20 debut in September 2025. Liverpool continue to regard him as a promising part of their long-term plans.
