Calvin Ramsay is a Scottish right-back born on 31 July 2003 in Aberdeen. He came through the youth academy at his hometown club Aberdeen, making his senior debut as a late substitute against Dundee United in March 2021. After establishing himself in the starting XI during the 2021–22 season — his only full campaign with the club — he was named SFWA Young Player of the Year, a recognition that drew attention from clubs in England's top flight.
In June 2022, Ramsay joined Liverpool on a five-year deal for an initial fee of £4.2 million, a record sale for Aberdeen at the time. He made his Liverpool debut in the Champions League against Napoli in November 2022, but injury cut short his first season at Anfield. Loan spells followed at Preston North End, Bolton Wanderers, Wigan Athletic, and Kilmarnock as he worked to build match fitness and senior experience.
An attack-minded right-back with the energy to get forward and deliver in the final third, Ramsay returned to Liverpool's first-team picture in October 2025, making an appearance against Crystal Palace in the EFL Cup after a three-year absence from the senior side.
At international level, Ramsay has earned caps for Scotland, making his senior debut in a friendly against Turkey in November 2022. Liverpool continue to hold him under contract, and at 22 he still has considerable time to establish himself at the club.
