Michael James Fitzgerald, known in Japan as Maikuma James, is a New Zealand-born Japanese defender. He began his professional career with Albirex Niigata and also played for Zweigen Kanazawa, V-Varen Nagasaki and Kawasaki Frontale before returning to Niigata. Fitzgerald became eligible for Japan and has represented the Japanese national team. His career has mainly been in Japan, where he has played as a centre-back across J1 and J2.
