Mason Paul James Burstow is an English forward born on 4 August 2003. He grew up in the south-east of England, developing through the youth setups at Welling United and Maidstone United before joining Charlton Athletic's academy in 2020. He announced himself in senior football in memorable fashion on 31 August 2021, scoring Charlton's fifth goal in a 6–1 EFL Trophy win over Crawley Town — his first touch in professional football.
His performances at Charlton attracted the attention of Chelsea, who signed him on 1 February 2022. After returning to Charlton on loan to finish that season, he made his Premier League debut for Chelsea on 20 August 2023 against West Ham. A season-long loan to Sunderland in the Championship followed, where he opened his account for the Black Cats with a goal in a 3–1 home win over Stoke City in January 2024.
In August 2024, Burstow made a permanent move to Hull City on a four-year deal, scoring his first goal for the club in November 2024. He is a direct, energetic centre-forward who offers pace and movement in behind defensive lines. His international recognition came in October 2023 when he made his England Under-20 debut against Romania.
For the 2025–26 season, Burstow has joined League One side Bolton Wanderers on a season-long loan from Hull City, scoring on his second appearance for the club in a 2–0 win over Plymouth Argyle. Bolton will look to him as a key attacking outlet as he continues to build senior experience.
