Antonio Arena was born on 10 February 2009 in Australia, into an Italian-Australian family, and came through Australian club M&U Football Academy and Western Sydney Wanderers' youth setup. In 2022 he moved to Italy to join Pescara's academy.
Within his time at Pescara he became their youngest-ever first-team scorer, breaking a record previously held by Marco Verratti. On 23 July 2025 he signed for Serie A side Roma, and on 13 January 2026, aged 16 years and 25 days, he made his Roma first-team debut in a Coppa Italia round of 16 match against Torino, scoring with his very first touch of the ball — a remarkable senior debut that made him the first 2009-born player to score in Italian professional football.
He has represented both Australia and Italy at youth international level, including playing for Italy at the 2025 FIFA U17 World Cup, where his pace and direct running drew comparisons in domestic media to Cristiano Ronaldo's early years.
A right-footed forward, Arena combines pace, athleticism and confidence in front of goal — a profile that has caused real excitement at Roma despite his very young age, with the club integrating him carefully behind Dovbyk, Vaz, Ferguson and El Shaarawy.
Public information about him is still developing, and this profile will be updated as more career and biographical detail becomes confirmed from independent sources.
