Carlos Forbs was born on 19 March 2004 in Sintra, Portugal, and moved to England at around age 11, eventually joining the Manchester City academy in 2015. Over eight years in City's youth system he accumulated 55 goals and 42 assists across the U-18s, U-21s, and UEFA Youth League, and was named Manchester City U-18 Player of the Season in 2021. In the 2022–23 season he scored 25 goals and provided 13 assists for City's U-21 side, helping the team to the Premier League 2 title.
Forbs made the step into professional football in August 2023 when he joined Ajax on a five-year deal worth an initial €14 million. He marked his first season in Amsterdam with his debut European goal against Marseille in the UEFA Europa League group stage, a 3–3 draw in which he also registered an assist. A season-long loan to Wolverhampton Wanderers followed in 2024–25, before he joined Belgian Pro League side Club Brugge on a permanent basis in July 2025.
One of his most notable performances came in November 2025, when he scored twice and assisted once in a 3–3 Champions League draw against Barcelona, earning the Player of the Match award. A direct and energetic winger, Forbs is known for his ability to combine quick movement with goal contributions in tight spaces.
On the international stage, Forbs made his Portugal senior debut on 16 November 2025, coming off the bench in a 9–1 World Cup qualifying victory over Armenia. He was also part of the Portugal U-19 squad that reached the final of the 2023 UEFA European Under-19 Championship.
