Raheem Sterling was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and moved to London as a child, eventually joining Queens Park Rangers' academy before Liverpool signed him in 2010 for an initial £450,000. He made his senior Liverpool debut in March 2012 aged 17, and quickly established himself as one of the most exciting young attackers in English football, winning the 2014 Golden Boy award and earning back-to-back Young Player of the Season honours at Anfield.
A record £49 million move to Manchester City in July 2015 marked the next chapter. Under Pep Guardiola, Sterling helped City win four Premier League titles — including back-to-back championships in 2017–18 and 2018–19 — and in that latter season was named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year, won the PFA Young Player of the Year, and claimed the FWA Footballer of the Year award. He also holds the record as the all-time top English assist provider in the UEFA Champions League, with 23.
A sharp, direct winger with pace and clever movement in tight spaces, Sterling joined Chelsea in July 2022 before a loan spell at Arsenal in 2024–25. He currently plays for Eredivisie side Feyenoord, having joined as a free agent in February 2026.
On the international stage, Sterling made his England senior debut in November 2012 and went on to represent his country at three FIFA World Cups (2014, 2018, 2022) and two UEFA European Championships (2016, 2020), cementing his place as one of England's most-capped outfield players of his generation.
