Lennart Karl was born on 22 February 2008 in Germany and joined Viktoria Aschaffenburg's academy in 2015 before moving to Eintracht Frankfurt's academy in 2017. In summer 2022 Bayern Munich signed him into their academy, where he progressed quickly through the youth system.
On 22 October 2025 he scored his first professional goal in a 4-0 Champions League win over Club Brugge, becoming Bayern Munich's youngest-ever scorer in the competition at 17 years and 242 days, and the youngest player ever to score in three consecutive UEFA Champions League matches.
He has progressed through Germany's youth international levels and is on the senior radar.
A left-footed attacking midfielder / winger, Karl has been compared by German media to Thomas Müller, Mesut Özil and Bastian Schweinsteiger for his footballing intelligence on the ball, vision and goal contribution. He has called Real Madrid his "dream club" — but Bayern have moved aggressively to extend his contracts and integrate him into the senior squad to keep him at home for the long term.
Public information about him is still developing, and this profile will be updated as more career and biographical detail becomes confirmed from independent sources.
