Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane was born on 6 September 1999 in Tunis, Tunisia. He came through Espérance Sportive de Tunis (ES Tunis) and won multiple Tunisian Ligue 1 titles — 2017–18, 2018–19, 2019–20, 2020–21, 2021–22 — plus the Tunisian Super Cup, the CAF Champions League in 2018–19 and the Kirin Cup with Tunisia in 2022. He had a remarkable trophy haul before turning 23.
In July 2023 Ferencvárosi TC of Hungary signed him on a free transfer. He won the Hungarian NB I in 2023–24 and 2024–25, scored 2 goals in 23 league matches in 2023, and starred in European competition with a goal in the Hungarian Cup, 2 goals in 10 UEFA Europa League matches, and appearances in the UEFA Champions League.
In June 2025 Egyptian giants Al Ahly signed Ben Romdhane. His Al Ahly career has been productive: 21 Egyptian Premier League matches with a goal and 2 assists, 6 CAF Champions League appearances with an assist, and a goal in 3 FIFA Club World Cup matches in 2025.
A two-footed central midfielder with vision, ball-control and the goal-scoring instincts to arrive in the box, Ben Romdhane is one of Tunisia's most exciting central midfielders. He scored a goal in 6 AFCON 2025 qualifying matches and is a major candidate for the 2026 FIFA World Cup squad as the long-term creative midfielder behind senior figures like Skhiri.
