Yuito Suzuki was born on 25 October 2001 in Miura, Kanagawa. He came through Shimizu S-Pulse's youth ranks and made his J1 League debut as a teenager with the senior side. In January 2023 he joined Strasbourg in France's Ligue 1 on loan, before returning to Shimizu briefly in summer 2023.
In August 2023 Suzuki took on his major European challenge with Brøndby IF in Denmark's Superliga. He was an immediate hit: 26 Superliga matches with 9 goals and 7 assists in 2023–24, and an even more productive 32 matches with 12 goals across 2024–25 — putting him at the top of the Danish league's attacking conversation. His goal contributions in the UEFA Europa Conference League added European exposure.
In summer 2025 Suzuki moved to Germany's SC Freiburg for around €10 million. His Bundesliga debut season has been outstanding: 25 league matches with 4 goals and 2 assists, alongside an excellent UEFA Europa League campaign with 4 goals and 2 assists in 11 matches — making him one of the most productive Japanese attackers in Europe across all competitions.
A two-footed attacking midfielder who can play as a number 10 or off the left, with elite ball-control and finishing ability, Suzuki has been a consistent presence in Japan training camps since 2025 and is in line for a major role at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. His combination of dribbling, vision and goal-scoring instinct gives Japan a different attacking profile from Mitoma or Kubo.
