Finn Surman is a Cardiff-born New Zealand centre back who grew up in Christchurch and developed with Selwyn United and the Wellington Phoenix. He made his senior breakthrough with the Phoenix, signed a professional contract and became a regular defender before transferring to Portland Timbers in 2024. Surman has represented New Zealand at under-20, under-23 and senior levels, played at the Paris Olympics and was named the best young player at the 2024 OFC Nations Cup.
