Gustavo Gómez is a Paraguayan centre-back from San Juan Bautista who captains Palmeiras and the Paraguay national team. He began with Libertad, won the Argentine title with Lanús, became AC Milan's first Paraguayan player, and then established himself at Palmeiras, where he has been central to one of the club's strongest modern periods.
