Masaya Okugawa is a Japanese attacking midfielder born in Shiga in 1996. He began at Kyoto Sanga before moving to Red Bull Salzburg, spending time on loan with Liefering, Mattersburg and Holstein Kiel as he adapted to European football. Okugawa later played for Arminia Bielefeld in Germany, where he became a regular in the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga, and also had a spell with Augsburg. His career has been defined by mobility between attacking midfield and wide roles, with much of his senior development taking place in Austria and Germany.
