Claudio Jeremías Echeverri was born on 2 January 2006 in Resistencia, in Argentina's Chaco Province. He began his footballing education at Deportivo Luján before joining River Plate's academy in 2017. He signed his first professional contract with River in December 2022 and made his senior debut in June 2023 as a substitute against Instituto, contributing an assist in a 3–1 win. He went on to help River Plate win the Primera División, the Supercopa Argentina, and the Trofeo de Campeones in 2023.
At international level, Echeverri represented Argentina's under-17 side at the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Indonesia, where he scored five goals across the tournament — including a hat-trick in a 3–0 quarter-final win over Brazil — and claimed the Bronze Boot after Argentina finished third.
In January 2024, he joined Manchester City on a four-and-a-half-year contract, initially returning to River Plate on loan before linking up with City in early 2025. He went on to score his first City goal in a 6–0 Club World Cup group-stage win against Al Ain in June 2025. He subsequently had a loan spell at Bayer Leverkusen in the first half of the 2025–26 season before moving on loan to Girona in January 2026.
Nicknamed El Diablito — the little devil — Echeverri is a right-footed attacking midfielder known for sharp dribbling, pace in one-on-one situations, and a powerful shot. Manchester City hold him as a long-term asset, with his loan to Girona part of his continued development at the highest level.
