Devis Rogers Epassy Mboka was born on 2 February 1993 in Soisy-sous-Montmorency, France, and developed in the French football system before building a nomadic senior career across Europe and the Middle East. He came through Rennes' youth setup and spent the early part of his professional life searching for stability in Spain, France and Greece.
His most important club breakthrough came in Greece, where he played for clubs including Levadiakos and Lamia. Those seasons gave him the regular first-team football that goalkeepers need most, and his reputation as a reflex-heavy, vocal goalkeeper grew before he moved to OFI Crete and then to Abha in Saudi Arabia in 2022.
After his spell in Saudi football he remained active across European club football, and by the 2025-26 season he was listed with Dinamo Bucuresti. His career has been less about one long stay at a single club and more about adapting quickly to new defensive lines, languages and league rhythms, a useful education for a goalkeeper asked to step into high-pressure international games.
For Cameroon he debuted in 2021 and became a major figure at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. He replaced Andre Onana after the goalkeeper's disciplinary exit from the squad and started the famous 1-0 win over Brazil, the first victory by an African team against Brazil at a World Cup. He has remained a senior option through AFCON campaigns and the 2026 World Cup qualifying cycle.
Standing about 1.89 m, Epassy is a right-footed goalkeeper with fast reactions, strong set positioning and a willingness to command his six-yard box. His profile is closer to Carlos Kameni than to a pure sweeper-keeper: explosive on his line, emotionally resilient, and comfortable carrying the pressure of a team that often has to defend long stretches without the ball.
