James Pantemis is a Canadian goalkeeper hailing from Pierrefonds, Canada. He began his football journey at the young age of four with AS Pierrefonds and later played for Lakeshore SC before joining the Montreal Impact's academy system in 2014. Pantemis made his professional debut with FC Montreal in 2016, though his early career was affected by an LCL injury that limited his appearances. After recovering, he signed a first-team contract with Montreal Impact in November 2017 and made his competitive debut in a Canadian Championship match against York9 in July 2019.
Throughout his career, Pantemis has made significant contributions, including being part of the Montreal Impact team that won the Canadian Championship in both 2019 and 2021. Known for his commanding presence as a goalkeeper, he has split starting duties with other prominent keepers during his time at CF Montréal, showcasing his skills and adaptability on the field.
Pantemis moved to Portland Timbers in January 2024, where he looks to grow further in Major League Soccer.
On the international scene, Pantemis has represented Canada at various youth levels and was part of the senior national team squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, although he did not see game time. He was first called up to the senior team in 2017 and has also participated in training camps, further contributing to his development as a player.
