Fujieda MYFC were founded in 2009 and are based in Fujieda, a city in Shizuoka Prefecture with deep roots in Japanese football culture. The club emerged from the merger of Fujieda Nelson CF and Shizuoka FC in 2010, and carried an unusual founding concept: the "MY Football Club" model, under which online subscribers could vote on tactical and operational decisions — the second club in the world to adopt such a system after the British original.
The club climbed steadily through the regional pyramid, winning the Tokai League Division 1 in 2010 and 2011 before earning promotion to the Japan Football League. In 2014 they joined the newly formed J3 League as a founding member, beginning nine seasons in Japan's third tier. During that period the club gradually built competitive solidity, finishing third in J3 in 2019 and eventually clinching the runners-up spot in 2022 with 67 points from 34 matches — enough to earn promotion to the J2 League for the first time in the club's history.
Since arriving in J2 in 2023, Fujieda have established themselves as a competitive second-division side. A notable milestone came in September 2023 when the club was confirmed to have met the criteria for a J1 League licence, signalling longer-term ambitions. Their home ground, Fujieda Sports Complex Park, holds just over 5,000 spectators — a modest but intimate setting that reflects the club's community identity. Regional derby matches against fellow Shizuoka clubs have become a defining part of their recent identity in J2.
