Fares Chaibi was born on 28 November 2002 in Lyon, France, to an Algerian family. He joined Toulouse as a young player and came through the club's academy at a time when Toulouse were rebuilding through development and smart recruitment.
Chaibi's senior breakthrough came quickly after Toulouse returned to Ligue 1. He contributed goals and assists from wide and central attacking positions, helping the club win the 2022-23 Coupe de France, a historic trophy for Toulouse. His intelligence between the lines and maturity in decision-making attracted attention from Germany.
In 2023 Eintracht Frankfurt signed him, and by 2026 he remains with the Bundesliga club. Frankfurt have used him as an attacking midfielder, wide creator and sometimes a more central connector. His German experience has added pressing intensity and tactical discipline to a player already known for clean technique.
Chaibi chose Algeria after representing France at youth level and made his senior international debut in 2023. He has been part of AFCON and World Cup qualifying squads, offering Algeria a younger creative profile during the post-2019 transition. His emergence helped reduce the creative burden on Mahrez alone.
Standing around 1.83 m, Chaibi is a right-footed attacking midfielder who can play as a ten, left-sided interior or wide forward. He is not an explosive winger in the pure sense; his strengths are timing, passing angles and late arrivals. Stylistically he resembles a more vertical version of Nabil Fekir, with shades of Mesut Ozil in his quieter creative actions.
