Krépin Diatta was born on 25 February 1999 in Dakar, Senegal. He developed through Oslo Football Academy and Sarpsborg 08 in Norway, an unusual route that gave him early senior minutes in a physical European environment before he moved to a bigger stage.
Club Brugge signed him in 2018, and in Belgium he became one of the league's most dynamic young wide players. He won domestic titles, played European football and developed from an explosive winger into a more tactically flexible right-sided player.
Monaco signed him in 2021, and he has remained associated with the club through the 2026 cycle. Injuries have interrupted his rhythm, but his ability to play as a winger, wing-back or right-sided midfielder has kept him useful in squads that demand speed and adaptability.
For Senegal he debuted as a teenager and was one of the standout young players at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, where Senegal reached the final. He later became part of the broader group around the 2021 AFCON triumph and the 2022 World Cup, even when injuries affected availability.
Standing around 1.75 m, Diatta is a right-footed wide player with acceleration, a low centre of gravity and direct dribbling. His career has moved from pure winger toward hybrid flank roles, making him comparable to a more attacking Youssouf Sabaly or a less orthodox version of Moses Simon.
