Máximo Perrone was born on 7 January 2003 in Argentina and came through the youth ranks at Vélez Sarsfield, making his professional debut for the Buenos Aires club in March 2022. He quickly caught the eye in South American competition, scoring a 94th-minute winner against Nacional in the Copa Libertadores group stage later that year.
In January 2023, Manchester City paid around £8 million to sign the then-19-year-old on a five-and-a-half year contract. He collected a Premier League title, FA Cup, UEFA Champions League, and UEFA Super Cup medal with City in the 2022–23 season, though his appearances were limited. His Premier League debut came as a substitute in a 4–1 win at Bournemouth in February 2023.
Perrone spent the 2023–24 season on loan at La Liga side Las Palmas before moving to Serie A club Como on loan for 2024–25. He joined Como permanently in July 2025 on a four-year deal, and the Italian club represents his main platform for regular first-team football at this stage of his career.
A composed, ball-playing defensive midfielder, Perrone reads the game quietly and distributes efficiently rather than imposing himself physically. He has represented Argentina at under-16 and under-20 level, featuring in both the 2023 South American U-20 Championship and the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup. He received his first senior Argentina call-up in March 2023 and made his senior international debut in a friendly against Angola in November 2025.
