Oliver Sonne Christensen was born on 10 November 2000 in Herfølge, Denmark, and is eligible for Peru through his family background. He developed in Denmark with HB Køge, Copenhagen's youth setup and Silkeborg, learning as a modern right-back in a structured Scandinavian environment.
At Silkeborg he became one of the Danish league's standout full-backs, offering running power, crossing and defensive reliability. In 2025 Burnley signed him, and in January 2026 he moved on loan to Sparta Prague to gain regular football at a major Czech club.
By May 2026 Sonne was with Sparta Prague on loan from Burnley, competing in a title-level European environment. His current role is as an attacking right-back who can overlap, underlap and contribute to possession without losing recovery speed.
For Peru he committed internationally after a long eligibility story and debuted in the 2020s. He became a fan favourite almost immediately because he represented a new global scouting pathway for the national team, and he has been involved through the 2026 qualifying cycle.
Standing around 1.84 m, Sonne is a right-footed full-back with size, stamina and technical polish. His profile differs from Luis Advíncula's pure power, but the vertical running invites comparison; his Scandinavian composure and crossing make him closer stylistically to a taller, right-sided Marcos López.
