Jack Grealish was born in Birmingham, England, and grew up supporting Aston Villa, the club he joined as a young boy in their academy. After loan spells to gain experience, he broke into the Villa first team and eventually became the club's captain, helping them win promotion back to the Premier League via the 2019 Championship play-off final.
His decade at Villa Park, where he made over 200 appearances, established him as one of the most exciting midfielders in English football. In the summer of 2021, Manchester City signed him for a reported £100 million, a British transfer record at the time. In his second season at City, he was part of the squad that won the Premier League, FA Cup, and UEFA Champions League treble in 2022–23.
Grealish is a left-footed, dribbling-focused attacking midfielder known for drawing fouls and creating chances in tight spaces. At Manchester City, he operates primarily as a wide attacking option within Pep Guardiola's system.
On the international stage, Grealish made his senior debut for England in 2020 after switching his allegiance from the Republic of Ireland, for whom he had represented at youth level. He was part of the England squad that reached the UEFA Euro 2020 final, where they were defeated by Italy on penalties. He has earned over 30 senior caps for England.
