Sota Miura was born on 7 September 2000 in Tokyo. He came through Ventforet Kofu's youth ranks and helped Kofu win the Emperor's Cup in 2022 — a remarkable J2-side cup run. He played 21 J2 matches with Kofu in 2023, plus 3 AFC Champions League appearances.
In January 2024 Kawasaki Frontale signed Miura. With Frontale he won the Super Cup in 2024 and made his Japan A-team debut. The 2024 season brought 20 J1 League matches with a goal and 4 assists, plus 13 AFC Champions League Elite matches with a goal — outstanding output for a debut J1 season at a major club.
The 2025 season has been productive: 24 J1 League matches with 6 assists.
A 178cm two-footed defender with attacking quality, set-piece delivery and the technical security to play out from the back, Miura is one of Japan's most exciting young left-sided defenders. He is a candidate for the wider 2026 FIFA World Cup squad as a left-back/wing-back depth option.
