Marcos Senesi was born on 10 May 1997 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He came through the youth setup of San Lorenzo de Almagro before moving to Feyenoord in the Netherlands in 2019, where he spent three seasons developing into one of the Eredivisie's most reliable central defenders. He helped Feyenoord win the 2022-23 KNVB Cup and established himself as a senior figure in the Dutch top flight.
In summer 2022 AFC Bournemouth signed him for around £12 million on their promotion to the Premier League. At Bournemouth he has been a central figure in the defensive structure across their Premier League campaigns, operating in a club that has competed admirably against the division's most established sides since their promotion.
His time in the Premier League has shaped him into a more physically resilient centre-back than the one who arrived from Eredivisie, with the demands of English top-flight football adding a new dimension to his game. He has been a consistent performer for Bournemouth across multiple seasons, helping the club establish itself as a mid-table Premier League side.
For Argentina he debuted in 2021 and has been a squad option through the 2022 World Cup and beyond. The Argentine centre-back pool — Romero, Lisandro Martínez, Otamendi, Balerdi — is deep and competitive, and Senesi's Premier League-based experience has been a factor keeping him within the extended national team picture.
Standing 1.86 m, Senesi is a left-footed centre-back whose calmness in possession, aerial ability and reading of the game draw comparisons to a more possession-oriented version of the classic Argentine defender. His combination of Dutch tactical formation and Premier League physical resilience gives him a European profile that complements Argentina's defensive depth.
