Daniel Burn hails from Blyth, Northumberland, England, where he began his football journey with the Darlington youth academy after being released by Newcastle United at a young age. He made his professional debut with Darlington in 2009, before moving to Fulham at the end of the 2010-11 season. Burn spent significant time on loan at clubs like Yeovil Town and Birmingham City, where he gained valuable experience and established himself as a reliable defender.
After a successful stint at Wigan Athletic, he signed with Brighton & Hove Albion in 2018, quickly becoming a key player in their defense. One of his defining moments came when he scored the winning goal against Manchester City in May 2021, helping Brighton achieve their first victory over the reigning champions in 41 years.
Burn is known for his defensive prowess, playing predominantly as a left-sided center-back or left-back. In January 2022, he joined Newcastle United, his boyhood club, and went on to score in the 2025 EFL Cup final, contributing to the club's first domestic trophy in 70 years. As of now, he continues to play a crucial role for Newcastle in the Premier League.
