Sven Botman is a Dutch centre-back born in Badhoevedorp in 2000. He developed at Ajax and gained senior experience on loan at Heerenveen before moving to Lille. In France he was a key defender as Lille won the 2020-21 Ligue 1 title. Newcastle United signed him in 2022, and he became part of a defence that helped the club qualify for the Champions League. Botman has represented the Netherlands at youth levels.
