Aaron Wan-Bissaka was born on 26 November 1997 in Croydon, Greater London, and came through the academy at his hometown club Crystal Palace, joining at the age of 11 as a winger before being converted to right-back. He made his senior debut for Palace in February 2018 and impressed enough in his first full season to win the club's Player of the Year award, earning a £50 million move to Manchester United in June 2019.
At United, Wan-Bissaka made an immediate impact, leading the Premier League in tackles in his debut season. He contributed to two major honours at Old Trafford, winning the EFL Cup in 2022–23 and the FA Cup in 2023–24, before departing for West Ham United in August 2024 on a seven-year deal.
His first season at West Ham was his strongest in years. He started 36 league games, scored two goals, provided four assists, and led all defenders in the division with 66 interceptions and 64 successful dribbles. He was voted the club's Hammer of the Year for 2024–25.
A defensively minded right-back renowned for his pace, slide tackling, and one-on-one duels, Wan-Bissaka is regarded as one of the more reliable defenders in the Premier League at his position.
On the international front, he represented England at youth level up to under-21, including at the 2019 UEFA European Under-21 Championship. After switching allegiance, FIFA approved his move to the DR Congo national team in August 2025, and he made his senior debut for Congo in a 4–1 World Cup qualifying win over South Sudan in September 2025.
