Born in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, and raised in south-east London from the age of one, Marc Guéhi developed through the Chelsea academy before breaking into senior football. After two loan spells at Swansea City in the Championship — where he became a reliable starter and helped the club reach back-to-back play-off finals — he joined Crystal Palace in 2021 for £18 million, at the time the club's third-largest transfer fee.
At Palace, Guéhi established himself as one of the Premier League's more dependable centre-backs, making over 180 appearances and being named club captain ahead of the 2024–25 season. The highlight of his time there came in May 2025, when he captained Palace to their first ever major trophy, lifting the FA Cup after a 1–0 win over Manchester City in the final. He followed that with the Community Shield in August 2025, again as captain.
A composed, well-positioned centre-back with a reputation for calmness and concentration, Guéhi completed a £20 million move to Manchester City in January 2026, where he is now part of the club's defensive setup.
For England, Guéhi made his senior debut in March 2022 and has become a regular in the national side. He played every minute of England's group-stage matches at UEFA Euro 2024, where the team finished as runners-up, and scored his first senior international goal in a 5–0 World Cup qualifying win over Serbia in September 2025.
