Marcus Rashford was born on 31 October 1997 in Manchester, England, and joined the Manchester United academy at the age of seven after a brief trial with Manchester City. He rose through the youth ranks to become one of the club's most notable homegrown players.
Rashford announced himself to senior football in dramatic fashion in February 2016, scoring twice on his first-team debut against Midtjylland in the UEFA Europa League, then repeating the feat three days later on his Premier League debut against Arsenal. He went on to score in his first Manchester derby, making him the youngest scorer in that fixture in the Premier League era. His debut season ended with an FA Cup winner's medal, and the following year he added the UEFA Europa League and EFL Cup to his collection. In total with United, he has won two FA Cups, two EFL Cups, the FA Community Shield, and the UEFA Europa League.
A direct, rapid forward who is most dangerous running in behind defences, Rashford is capable of playing across the front line. He made his England senior debut in May 2016, becoming the youngest English player to score on a senior international debut, and has since represented his country at two European Championships and two FIFA World Cups.
Currently on loan at Barcelona from Manchester United, Rashford is looking to rebuild his form at the La Liga club. Away from football, he has been widely recognised for his campaigning work against child hunger, racism, and homelessness in the United Kingdom.
