Conor Gallagher was born on 6 February 2000 in Epsom, England, and came through Chelsea's academy from the age of eight. Rather than breaking into the first team immediately, he built his senior experience through a series of loan spells, representing Charlton Athletic, Swansea City, West Bromwich Albion, and Crystal Palace across several seasons.
His loan at Crystal Palace in 2021–22 stands as a defining chapter of his development. He made 39 appearances, scoring eight goals and contributing assists, and was named the club's Player of the Year. Among players aged 21 and under, his goal contributions in that Premier League campaign ranked among the highest.
A high-energy, box-to-box midfielder with the stamina and defensive awareness to operate in both halves of the pitch, Gallagher returned to Chelsea on a permanent basis and went on to captain the side during injury absences of senior players, making 50 appearances in 2023–24 with seven goals and nine assists.
He moved to Atlético Madrid in August 2024 on a five-year deal before joining Tottenham Hotspur in January 2026. At the time of writing, Chelsea remains his current club as listed on this platform pending a data update.
On the international stage, Gallagher was part of England's U-17 squad that won the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2017. He earned his senior England debut in November 2021 and has since represented his country at the 2022 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2024.
