Alejandro Garnacho was born on 1 July 2004 in Madrid, Spain, and came through the youth systems of Getafe and Atlético Madrid before Manchester United paid £420,000 to bring him to England in October 2020. He made his senior debut for United in April 2022, and the following month scored twice in the FA Youth Cup final against Nottingham Forest, winning the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award in the same period.
Garnacho went on to become a regular in United's first team, collecting an EFL Cup winner's medal in 2023 and an FA Cup winner's medal in 2024 — scoring the opening goal in the final against Manchester City. His bicycle kick against Everton in November 2023 earned him the Premier League Goal of the Month, the Premier League Goal of the Season for 2023–24, and the FIFA Puskás Award. He made his 100th United appearance in October 2024 before a £40 million move to Chelsea in the summer of 2025.
A direct, quick winger capable of playing on either flank, Garnacho is known for his dribbling, his ability to create chances, and a penchant for acrobatic finishes. At Chelsea, he has been integrated into the squad as an attacking wide option, scoring his first goal for the club in October 2025.
International eligibility allowed him to choose between Spain and Argentina; he represented Spain at under-18 level before committing to Argentina. He made his senior Argentina debut in June 2023 and was part of the squad that won the 2024 Copa América.
