Ben White was born in Poole, Dorset, and came through the youth ranks at Southampton before joining Brighton & Hove Albion's academy system. He spent several loan spells developing his game at lower-league clubs, including a particularly notable season at Leeds United in 2019-20, where his composed performances in the Championship helped Leeds win promotion to the Premier League and drew widespread attention from top-flight clubs.
Arsenal signed White in the summer of 2021 for a fee reported at around £50 million, making him one of the more significant defensive investments of that transfer window. He won the FA Cup with Arsenal in the 2023-24 season as part of a squad that also mounted a sustained Premier League title challenge under Mikel Arteta.
