Marli Salmon is an English defender born on 29 August 2009 in Woodford. He came through the Arsenal academy and quickly caught the attention of the club's coaching staff, earning a place on the first-team pre-season tour to Singapore and Hong Kong in July 2025 at just 15 years old — one of the youngest Arsenal players to feature on such a trip.
Salmon made his Arsenal first-team debut on 10 December 2025, coming on as an 83rd-minute substitute for Ben White in a 3–0 UEFA Champions League away win over Club Brugge. He then earned his first senior start in the FA Cup fifth round against Mansfield in March 2026, a match that underlined the confidence the club has in him at such a young age.
Prior to those first-team appearances, Salmon had been building experience in the Premier League 2, making six appearances in the 2024–25 season, along with two outings in the UEFA Youth League.
A composed and versatile defender capable of playing at centre-back or right-back, Salmon offers reliability and calmness on the ball for his age. Arsenal see him as a long-term prospect and continue to integrate him gradually into the senior setup.
On the international stage, Salmon made his England Under-17 debut on 28 October 2025 in a 1–0 defeat to Scotland in a 2026 UEFA European Under-17 Championship qualifier. He was also called up to England's squad for the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup. His father's family is Jamaican and his mother's side is Mauritian.
