Eberechi Eze was born on 29 June 1998 in Greenwich, Greater London, to Nigerian parents of Igbo heritage. He came through the academies of several English clubs — including an early stint at Arsenal — before joining Queens Park Rangers in 2016. His senior career began modestly, with a loan spell at Wycombe Wanderers in League Two helping him find his feet, but it was the 2019–20 Championship season that announced him to a wider audience: he scored 14 goals in 48 appearances, earned a place in the PFA Team of the Year, and was named QPR's Player of the Year.
Crystal Palace signed him for around £17 million in August 2020, and despite a serious Achilles injury that cost him much of the 2021–22 season, he developed into one of the Premier League's most creative attacking midfielders. The defining moment of his time at Selhurst Park came in the 2025 FA Cup final, when his goal gave Palace a 1–0 victory and the club's first ever major trophy. He followed that with a Community Shield winner's medal before Arsenal secured his signature for £67.5 million.
Eze is a skilful, creative attacking midfielder known for his close control, dribbling in tight spaces, and eye for goal from distance. At Arsenal he is expected to bring that same inventiveness to a side competing at the top of the Premier League.
On the international stage, Eze made his senior England debut in 2023 and was part of the squad that reached the final of UEFA Euro 2024, finishing as runners-up to Spain.
