Jérémy Doku was born on 27 May 2002 in Antwerp, Belgium, and came through the academy system at Anderlecht after earlier spells at local clubs. He made his professional debut for Anderlecht on 25 November 2018 at the age of 16, marking him out as one of the more promising young attackers in Belgian football at the time.
In October 2020, he moved to French club Stade Rennais on a five-year deal for a reported fee of €26 million — a club record for Rennes. He continued his development in Ligue 1 before Manchester City signed him in August 2023 for a reported £55.5 million, also on a five-year contract. At City, he has added a Premier League title (2023–24), an FA Community Shield (2024), and a FIFA Club World Cup (2023) to his honours.
A direct, dribble-heavy winger with Ghanaian heritage, Doku is known for his ability to beat defenders one-on-one at pace, particularly from wide positions. He has been among the top performers in the Premier League for dribble success in recent seasons, though analysts note that converting those runs into direct goal contributions remains an area of focus.
Doku made his senior debut for the Belgium national team on 5 September 2020 in a UEFA Nations League match against Denmark, scoring his first international goal three days later against Iceland.
He has also attracted attention off the pitch for celebrating goals with the Griddy — a viral dance move — including after scoring against West Ham and in a Champions League match against RB Leipzig.
