Ferran Torres García was born on 29 February 2000 in Foios, in the Valencian Community of Spain. He joined Valencia CF's youth academy at the age of six and worked his way through the ranks to make his La Liga debut in December 2017, becoming the first player born in the 2000s to appear in the competition. He went on to score his first Champions League goal for Valencia in November 2019, becoming the club's youngest scorer in the competition at the time.
In August 2020, Manchester City signed Torres for a reported €23 million, where he inherited the iconic number 21 shirt previously worn by David Silva. He contributed to City's Premier League and EFL Cup double in the 2020–21 season, scoring 16 goals in 43 appearances before joining Barcelona in January 2022 for €55 million.
At Barcelona, Torres has grown into an increasingly important figure. He scored a hat-trick on his 100th club appearance against Real Betis in January 2024, and was named MVP of the 2024–25 Copa del Rey final after scoring a late equaliser against Real Madrid — a match Barcelona won in extra time. He was also the competition's top scorer that season, with Barcelona claiming both La Liga and the Copa del Rey.
A quick, two-footed winger capable of playing across the attacking line, Torres is known for his pace, close control, and ability to cut inside or stretch play wide.
For Spain, Torres made his senior debut in September 2020 and has been capped over 40 times, scoring a hat-trick against Germany in the Nations League in November 2020. He was part of the squad that won UEFA Euro 2024.
