Amara Nallo is an English defender born on 18 November 2006, of Sierra Leonean descent. He began his development at the West Ham United academy before signing scholarship terms with the club in early 2023. In August 2023 he moved to Liverpool, where he made rapid progress through the youth ranks, earning praise from under-21 manager Barry Lewtas for his performances in the Premier League International Cup and also featuring in the EFL Trophy.
Nallo made his senior debut for Liverpool on 29 January 2025, coming on as a substitute in the 83rd minute of a 3–2 UEFA Champions League defeat against PSV Eindhoven. The appearance ended with a direct red card just four minutes after coming on, for denying a goalscoring opportunity. His second senior appearance, in a 3–0 EFL Cup home defeat against Crystal Palace on 29 October 2025, ended with another sending-off, making him the first player in Liverpool's history to be dismissed in consecutive appearances for the club.
At youth international level, Nallo received his first England under-18 call-up in March 2024 and made his debut in a 2–1 win over Czechia at the Pinatar Arena. He stepped up to the under-19 side in October 2024, debuting in a 4–1 win against the Netherlands, and earned his first England under-20 cap in November 2025 in a 1–1 draw with Japan.
Described by former West Ham under-16 coach Carlton Cole as having a "great left foot" and moving elegantly with the ball, Nallo is an upright, composed central defender who is comfortable in possession with both feet. Liverpool continue to develop him as a long-term option at the heart of their defence.
