Joshua Zirkzee was born in Schiedam, the Netherlands, and came through the youth academy at Feyenoord before joining Bayern Munich's renowned development system as a teenager. He made his senior professional breakthrough in Germany, gradually earning first-team minutes before moving to Serie A with Bologna, where consistent performances brought him to wider European attention.
At Bologna, Zirkzee established himself as one of the more interesting young attackers in Italian football, contributing goals and assists across two seasons and helping the club to a notable Serie A campaign. His ability to link play and finish in tight spaces drew comparisons to a classic Dutch centre-forward: technically assured, with intelligent movement and the capacity to operate as a focal point or a deeper-lying forward. That form earned him a high-profile move to Manchester United.
Zirkzee joined Manchester United as the club looked to rebuild following a transitional period in the Premier League. He represents a significant investment and is expected to be a central figure in the attack as the club works to recapture consistent form at the top level of English football.
At international level, Zirkzee has represented the Netherlands and has featured in the national team setup, though he remains a player working to secure a permanent starting role for the Oranje. Still in his early twenties, he has time to grow into the expectations that come with playing for one of the world's most recognisable clubs.
