Isaac Fletcher is an English midfielder born on 1 June 2002 in the north of England. He came through the academy at Middlesbrough, joining the club at under-10 level before signing his first professional contract in November 2020. His early development included a loan spell at Hartlepool United in January 2022, where he scored his first professional goal in February of that year, netting in a 2–1 win at Colchester United.
A further loan move took Fletcher to National League side Scunthorpe United in August 2022, though he was recalled early after just over a month. Released by Middlesbrough at the end of 2023, he joined National League North club Spennymoor Town in February 2024 — a club his father Andy had represented as a semi-professional. Fletcher hit his stride quickly in non-league football, registering ten goals in all competitions by October 2024 and earning the National League Player of the Month award for September 2024.
A composed, technically reliable central midfielder, Fletcher reads the game well and contributes consistently at both ends of the pitch. His performances earned him a step back into the Football League when Barrow signed him on a two-and-a-half year deal in January 2025 for an undisclosed fee. At Barrow, he is expected to bring creativity and goal threat to a side competing in EFL League Two.
