Tobias Christopher Collyer was born on 3 January 2004 in Worthing, England, and came through the youth academy at Brighton & Hove Albion, where he was already representing the under-18 side at the age of 15. He made his under-23 debut shortly after his 17th birthday and became a recognisable figure in Brighton's development setup before turning down a new contract to join Manchester United's academy in March 2022 on a three-and-a-half-year deal.
At United, Collyer worked his way into first-team contention, making his competitive debut as a substitute in the 2024 FA Community Shield against Manchester City. He went on to make his Premier League debut in September 2024, coming on against Liverpool at Old Trafford. A disciplined defensive midfielder with a strong work rate and reading of the game, he earned praise from captain Bruno Fernandes following a solid Europa League display against Rangers in January 2025. He was part of the Manchester United squad that finished as UEFA Europa League runners-up in 2024–25.
After a loan spell at West Bromwich Albion in the Championship — cut short by a calf injury — Collyer returned to United before joining Hull City on loan in January 2026 for the remainder of the season. Hull are providing him with regular Championship minutes to continue his development.
At international level, Collyer captained England at under-16 and under-17 level, making eight appearances for the under-16 side. He made his England under-20 debut in October 2024, in a 2–1 win over Italy in Frosinone.
