Deivid Washington de Souza Eugênio was born on 5 June 2005 in Itumbiara, Goiás, Brazil. He began his football education at Grêmio at the age of eight before moving to Santos three years later, where former Brazil international Marcos Assunção helped bring him to the club. At Santos he quickly made a name for himself in youth football, finishing as the top scorer of the 2022 Campeonato Paulista Sub-17 with 16 goals and adding a further six in the national under-17 championship that same year.
Deivid signed his first professional contract with Santos at 16 and made his senior debut on 11 April 2023, coming on as a substitute in a 2–0 Copa do Brasil win over Botafogo-SP. He scored his first professional goal on 10 May 2023, opening the scoring in a 3–0 Série A home win over Bahia. At international level, he was part of the Brazil under-20 side that won the South American Youth Football Championship in 2025.
A direct and mobile attacking forward, Deivid is capable of pressing high and finishing in tight spaces. Chelsea signed him from Santos in August 2023 on a seven-year contract, and he remains registered with the Premier League club, having returned from a loan spell back at Santos that ran from February to September 2025.
