Federico Chiesa was born on 25 October 1997 in Italy, the son of former professional footballer Enrico Chiesa. He came through Fiorentina's youth academy after joining the club in 2007, signing his first professional contract in February 2016 and making his competitive debut that same year. Over four seasons with the club, he scored 34 goals in 153 appearances across all competitions, including a notable hat-trick against Roma in the 2019 Coppa Italia quarter-final.
In October 2020, Chiesa joined Juventus on a loan deal that became permanent, winning the Coppa Italia in his debut season after scoring the match-winning goal in the final against Atalanta. An ACL injury in January 2022 disrupted his momentum, but he returned to form in the 2023–24 season, scoring nine Serie A goals. He won a second Coppa Italia with Juventus in 2024 before signing for Liverpool for a reported £10 million fee.
A direct, pacey winger who can operate effectively on either flank or in central attacking positions, Chiesa brings versatility and goal threat to any frontline. At Liverpool, his first-season minutes were limited under manager Arne Slot, though he contributed enough appearances to earn a Premier League winner's medal — only the second Italian to do so, after Mario Balotelli.
At international level, Chiesa made his official senior debut for Italy in March 2018. He was a key figure in Italy's UEFA Euro 2020 triumph, scoring in the round of 16 and the semi-final and earning a place in the Team of the Tournament.
