Bryan Mbeumo was born on 7 August 1999 in Avallon, France, and came through the academy at Troyes, where he made his senior debut in February 2018. After two seasons in the French system, he moved to Brentford in August 2019 for £5.8 million, a club record at the time. He quickly established himself in the Championship, scoring 16 goals in his debut season and helping the club reach the play-off final.
His most defining contribution at Brentford came in 2021, when he was part of the side that won the Championship play-off final and earned promotion to the Premier League. He went on to make 242 appearances for the club across six seasons. His standout individual campaign came in 2024–25, when he scored 20 Premier League goals and led the league in both expected assists and non-penalty goals over expected, earning the Premier League Fan Team of the Season.
A left-footed right winger who cuts inside to create and finish, Mbeumo joined Manchester United in July 2025 for a reported £71 million on a five-year deal, where he is expected to be a central figure in their attack. He scored a memorable opener at Anfield in October 2025 as United ended a nine-year wait for a win there.
Despite representing France at youth level, Mbeumo declared for Cameroon and made his senior international debut in 2022. He appeared in three matches at the 2022 FIFA World Cup as Cameroon reached the group stage.
