Benjamin Šeško was born on 31 May 2003 in Slovenia and began his footballing journey at local clubs Radeče and Rudar Trbovlje before moving to Krško and then Domžale. At 16, he signed with Red Bull Salzburg in 2019, spending two loan seasons with their reserve side FC Liefering, where he scored 22 goals in 44 appearances in the Austrian second tier. He broke into Salzburg's first team in January 2021 and went on to win three Austrian Bundesliga titles and one Austrian Cup.
In July 2023, Šeško moved to RB Leipzig on a reported fee of around €24 million, where he scored 39 goals in 87 appearances across two seasons and claimed a DFL-Supercup winners' medal. A standout moment came when he became the youngest player to score in seven consecutive Bundesliga games, aged 20. Despite interest from several top clubs in the summer of 2024, he chose to remain at Leipzig for one further season before eventually completing a move to Manchester United in August 2025 for a reported initial fee of €76.5 million, becoming the first Slovenian to represent the club.
A tall, powerful centre-forward standing at 1.95 m, Šeško combines aerial ability, explosive pace, and clinical finishing with growing involvement in build-up play. Manchester United see him as a long-term focal point of their attack on a five-year contract.
At international level, Šeško made his senior debut for Slovenia on 1 June 2021, aged 18, becoming the country's youngest ever debutant. He has since become Slovenia's youngest ever goalscorer and scored a hat-trick against Kazakhstan in September 2024 in UEFA Nations League competition.
