Liam Delap is an English attacker who came through the academy system before joining Manchester City, where he developed as a powerful, physical centre-forward with a direct style of play.
Delap made a notable impact during a loan spell at Ipswich Town in the 2024–25 Premier League season, one of the more demanding assignments available to a young forward. He scored on his debut contribution for the club, netting in the 1–1 draw against Fulham in August 2024 to earn Ipswich their first league point of the campaign. He went on to become one of the club's most consistent attacking threats throughout the season, adding goals against Aston Villa, Chelsea, Fulham, Aston Villa again in February, and Wolverhampton Wanderers, among others. His performances gave Ipswich genuine hope in their relegation battle, even if the club was ultimately unable to avoid the drop back to the Championship.
A strong, direct centre-forward, Delap relies on physicality and finishing ability rather than elaborate link-up play to make his mark in games.
He returns to Manchester City, who hold him as a significant prospect within their squad and will be looking to define his role at the club following his experience of regular Premier League football on loan.
